Taken 3 (2014): The Final Stand in the Hunt for Justice

Taken 3 is the third and final installment in the Taken franchise, directed by Olivier Megaton and starring Liam Neeson, Forest Whitaker, and Maggie Grace. The story follows former CIA operative Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) as he is accused of murdering his ex-wife, Lenore (Famke Janssen), and must clear his name while also protecting his daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) from the people who are after him.

The movie starts off with Lenore being murdered in her apartment, and all evidence points to Bryan as the killer. The police are quick to pursue him, and Bryan must go on the run to clear his name. Meanwhile, the real killers are after him and his family, and he must protect his daughter from harm.

The plot of Taken 3 is fast-paced and action-packed, with plenty of thrilling car chases, shootouts, and fight scenes. However, the movie lacks the same level of tension and urgency that made the first Taken so gripping. The storyline is also somewhat convoluted, with several subplots that feel unnecessary and distracting.

Liam Neeson once again delivers a solid performance as Bryan Mills, showcasing his trademark intensity and physical prowess. However, the character feels somewhat one-dimensional at this point, and there isn't much development or growth in his arc.

The supporting cast is serviceable but not particularly memorable. Forest Whitaker plays the lead detective on the case, but his character feels underdeveloped and his performance is somewhat wooden. Maggie Grace, who plays Bryan's daughter, has a larger role in this movie than in the previous two installments, but her character doesn't add much to the story (apart from being in danger as always, lol).

Taken 3 is a decent action movie that delivers plenty of thrills and excitement. However, it falls short of the high bar set by the first Taken and feels like a somewhat unnecessary addition to the franchise. They had to end it somehow.

I rate it 3 out of 5.
