Salt (2010): The 'Salty' Femme Fatale of Espionage

Salt, directed by Phillip Noyce, is an action-packed thriller where Angelina Jolie takes on the role of Evelyn Salt, a CIA officer accused of being a Russian spy, and delivers a performance that's as enigmatic as it is electrifying.

The film kicks off with a bang, as Salt's loyalties and identity are brought into question, setting the stage full of espionage, chases, and twists. Jolie's portrayal of Salt as a resourceful, fearless agent is an excellent example in action cinema. The supporting cast, including Liev Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejiofor, delivers solid performances, but it's Jolie who steals the show.

The action sequences are pretty decent - death-defying leaps and hand-to-hand combat with fast pacing which does not let your attention drift away. The plot is decent and keeps you guessing about Salt's true intentions. As with most actions films, the plot occasionally stretches believability, but it's all part of the fun. Salt doesn't aim to be a realistic portrayal of the intelligence world; instead, it thrives on delivering a popcorn-munching experience.

Not at all disappointing, quite entertaining.
