Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019): Gotta Watch 'Em All!

Pokémon: Detective Pikachu delivers a delightful fusion of live-action and CGI that showcases the vibrant and enchanting world of Pokémon. Director Rob Letterman brings the beloved franchise to life with charm and humor.

The story follows Tim Goodman (Justice Smith), a young man who reluctantly teams up with a wisecracking, amnesiac Pikachu (voiced by Ryan Reynolds) to uncover the truth behind his father's death. As they delve deeper into the mystery, they encounter a cast of lovable and visually stunning Pokémon.

Ryan Reynolds as the voice of Pikachu steals the show with his signature wit and humor, making the character stand out even more than expected. Justice Smith's portrayal of Tim is just....bad. Sorry, but he was not the right choice to play this part as he does not do good with the dialogue delivery or expressions.

Visually, Detective Pikachu is a treat for Pokémon fans. The film's CGI brings the Pokémon to life in a way that feels authentic to the source material, and the attention to detail is commendable. From the furry Pikachu to the scaly Charizard, each Pokémon is a sight to behold. The plot is very predictable, but the real magic lies in the journey of discovering the Pokémon world.

Whether you're a die-hard Pokémon Trainer or a newcomer to the world of pocket monsters, this film offers something for everyone. You will enjoy it and then forget it soon enough unless these monsters have been a big part of your childhood.
